Basil Avocado Pesto

Ever since I was introduced to pesto, I’ve come to really love the taste. Although a basic pesto recipe usually includes basil, parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic and pine nuts; I wanted to do something different. I wanted to have a pesto recipe that wouldn’t use way too much cheese and olive oil. This led to a much healthier version that is quick and easy, plus it’s also vegan!

Basil Avocado Pesto 


  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • half of avocado
  • 2 tbs of nutritional yeast
  • handful of basil
  • water


  1. Combine all ingredients in food processor
  2. Add water depending on desired consistency of pesto
  3. Mix with any pasta or zoodles
  4. Enjoy
